Scope of the lecture

Welcome to the class: We are very excited that you are interested in equipping you with an introduction to IT systems for digital health experts. The bridge module teaches foundation concepts and technologies, which are required in the field of digital health, in the following areas:

  • Complex IT systems,
  • Operating systems, as well as
  • Internet/WWW.

After participating in the course, you will be equipped with the ability to: 

  • Modeling of complex IT systems and data schemes, understand the founation of data formats, data encoding, data processing and its storage,
  • Data handling, resource management, understand the foundations of different computing architectures, and 
  • Digital health apps, interconnection of front- and backend, communication protocols, storing and sharing of digital health data.

Grading

In the course of the lecture, you will have to conduct a small number of personal exercises to recap the presented lecture content. You have to pass all of these intermediate exercises prior to participate the final exam (Prüfungsvorleistung).

The final grading will be determined by either of the following parts depending on the total number of students eligable for the final exam:

  • Oral examination (100%) OR
  • Final exam at the end of the course (100%)
