New Study Planned to Investigate Fatigue in Resistance Training

We are happy to announce that we will soon start a new study at our chair to estimate subjective exhaustion during resistance training.

In our study, we aim to identify subjective fatigue during strength training (squats) on the FlyWheel using movement data. The FlyWheel is a relatively new exercise device that consists of a platform and a rotating disc. The energy introduced when standing up overcomes the moment of inertia and accelerates the disc. In the counter-movement, the same energy must be applied to stop the disc. We use inertial measurement units, 3D cameras, electrocardiography as sensors and further take lactate measurements.
