For the first time CeBIT exhibitor Hasso Plattner Institute (https://hpi.de) is presenting its new Real-time Event Analytics and Monitoring System (REAMS) in Hall 9, Stand D44. With this system, HPI Internet scientists collect all information relevant to security events in a network – regardless of whether it originates from servers, routers or working computers. This transferred information is then analyzed in a uniform data format in real-time. This creates the precondition to allow for the immediate and flexible detection of complex cyber attacks on companies and institutions right at the moment they are carried out.

In addition, the relationships between individual processes and typical  patterns of attack, executed long ago, can be subsequently reconstructed and analyzed in detail. Therefore, the technologies developed at HPI also put IT security experts in industry, science and administration in a position of being able to recognize new attacks that would otherwise go undetected with conventional solutions.
