HPI and DEF maintain Erasmus+ agreements with various European partners, in particular in Jyväskylä (Finland), Modena (Italy), Karlskrona (Sweden), Tartu (Estonia), Coimbra (Portugal), Paris (France), and Istanbul (Turkey). We encourage students at HPI to spend a semester abroad and welcome guests to visit HPI for their studies. Typically, over 50% of masters courses at HPI are taught in English.

Besides the HPI exchange program coordinator, the International Office (IO) will provide you with all official documents/forms. The International Office (IO) of Potsdam University is furthermore happy to assist you in any questions on student exchange programs in general and the Erasmus+ program in particular. Regularly, information meetings on the Erasmus+ program are organized and interested students are invited to participate.

• Student exchanges can be done at any time during Bachelor and Master studies, but we recommend taking it during the Master's program. If you plan the Erasmus+ exchange at the beginning of the Master, you need to apply at the end of your Bachelor studies.
• We do not recommend Bachelor students to be on leave during their fifth and sixth semester, because the Bachelor-project and thesis are typically conducted during this time frame. 
• It is required that you are enrolled at the University of Potsdam at the time the Erasmus+ exchange semester(s) takes place. That is, you can already apply before you have been accepted to a HPI Master’s program, but you need to be accepted & enrolled at the time the exchange starts.
• In addition to the Erasmus+ exchange program, there is also the possibility of an internship abroad. The University of Potsdam also offers programs to study at various other non-European universities. More information is available here.
