The In-Memory Data Base (IMDB) technology is a game-changing technology foundation to combine, process and analyze enterprise data. The working group of Dr.-Ing. Schapranow focuses on applying innovative database technology and latest algorithmic advances to digital health, scientific data management, and life sciences to support clinicians, researchers, and patients in their daily life. Latest advances in diagnostic methods allow to acquire more and more fine-greained data in a ever shrinking amount of time. Nowadays, clinicians, researchers, and citizens are facing the challenge to keep pace when dealing with the ever-growing amount of data. Joint collaboration with subject-matter experts, e.g. clinical background, biological researchers, and medical professionals, built the foundation for our work. They allow us to identify real-world challenges, mutual ideation and exchange of knowledge, and to evaluate and proof our research findings in real-world settings. Amongst others, we are focusing on applying latest machine learning and artifical intelligence algorithms to assisst processing of multi-variant data sets, interactive graphical data analysis and exploration tools to gain insights in big medical data as well as reproducible high-throughput computing of precision medicine data, such as *omics data.
