In addition to the annual HPI Connect company contact fair, the networking event for IT companies, students and alumni of the HPI, many other career related events are organized in cooperation with the student club HPI Connect.

Besides providing a first-class university education, the HPI successfully encourages and supports its students and scientists in the implementation of new business ideas as entrepreneurs. Here we present a selection of HPI Start-ups as well as offers for consulting and coaching in the field of entrepreneurship.

HPI Alumni Portraits

Currently, about 550 bachelor and master students are studying at the Hasso Plattner Institute. Since 1999, around 1500 alumni have already earned their bachelor's and master's degrees in "IT Systems Engineering". A number that will multiply in the next few years due to the new master's programs "Data Engineering", "Cybersecurity" and "Digital Health" and the steady growth of the institute.

Among the institute's graduates are also many successful founders. One particular success story, for example, is the HPI alumni start-up Signavio. The company was founded by HPI alumni Gero Decker, Nicolas Peters, Torben Schreiter and Willi Tscheschner in 2009 and was acquired by SAP in January 2021 for around 1 billion euros.
