Lei Liu is a PhD candidate at the Centre for Work, Technology, and Organization (WTO) at Stanford University. Trained as an ethnographer, Lei is interested in work group dynamics, work practice, distributed teams (particularly those cross national cultural boundaries), and the use of technology in teams and organizations. Previously he has conducted research with the Office of Naval Research, investigating the role of and relationship between formal and informal structures in multi-agency emergency response teams. His current research focuses on how design work is conducted in different cultural contexts. Lei holds a BS in Management Science and a BS in Information Science, both from Peking University, China.
