I am a veterinarian, microbiologist and global public health expert with ample leadership experience. Initially I focused on molecular pathogenesis, genomic surveillance, and evolution of infectious agents, then my research extended to public and global health disease prevention and containment of pathogens with epidemic and pandemic potential. I plan to extend my research to the prevention of non-communicable diseases, by leveraging digital health, particularly in global public health. My goal is to reduce health inequalities by promoting digital public health at local, national, and international levels, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
