Study at HPI

With the bachelor's degree program "IT-Systems Engineering," the digital engineering faculty offers a hands-on and software-oriented computer science program. In the three master's programs "IT-Systems Engineering", "Digital Health", and "Computer Science", students can then choose their own research focus. There is a strong emphasis on the transfer of ideas and digital technologies into customer- and market-centered products and startups.

Research and cooperation

There are currently 24 professors and around 50 other lecturers and instructors working at HPI. The institute conducts excellent university research – in our research groups, but also in the HPI Research Schools for doctoral students with their research branches in Cape Town (South Africa) and Irvine (California), as well as with academic partners such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and the Hasso Plattner Institute for Digital Health at Mount Sinai (HPI-MS) in New York.

Focus of HPI teaching and research

The focus of HPI teaching and research lies on the foundations and applications of complex IT systems. At HPI, we are convinced that excellence can only be achieved if we combine knowledge from different disciplines in collaboration to jointly create responsible and pioneering solutions for the future. With this offer, the Hasso Plattner Institute aims to contribute to strengthening digital sovereignty in Europe.
