Project partnership and membership

Become a project partner and develop innovations with students

Whether in a logistics or media company, a global corporation, a start-up, or a neighborhood association, Design Thinking helps to develop the processes, products, services, and organizations of tomorrow in a human-centric and rapid manner. Our Design Thinking programs with students are practice-oriented.

As a project partner, you will utilize the creative potential of our project teams of students, coaches, and team members from the HPI d-school to tackle specific problems from your company's practice. The challenges can range from concrete product innovations to the transformation of an organization to solutions for complex social challenges.

Project partnership - when, where and how does it work?

As a partner in a student project, you develop a question for your project with us, the so-called design challenge. Our students will work on this challenge with you. Our experienced Design Thinking coaches will support you. This takes place in an environment that promotes collaboration (place). Students from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds contribute their perspectives (people). The Design Thinking process (process) provides the framework for a path towards innovative, people- and life-centered solutions for your problem.

Our project partners include medium-sized and large companies, non-profit organizations, and public administration institutions. Our partner organizations come from both Germany and abroad.

Take a look at selected design challenges that our students have worked on.

Cooperation opportunities for project partners

You can use both the summer and winter semesters to work on a Design Challenge. The 8-week project format of the Foundations for Design Thinking is particularly suitable for design challenges focussing on product and service innovations as well as business model concepts. The Global Design Thinking Workshops (GDTW) also offer a shorter format and take place at least once a year.
