Service-oriented Computing (SOC) has been a popular paradigm to distributed information systems. The basic building blocks of SOC are web services that are typically invoked remotely over a network, e.g., Internet. In the context of the "Research School on Service-oriented Systems Engineering", we develop techniques to enhance the usage of web services in integrated information systems, as well as novel techniques to enable key information integration tasks via web services.
