Birgit Jobst

Birgit Jobst studied Industrial Design at the Berlin University of Arts, Berlin(Universität der Künste, UdK) as well as at the Central Saint Martins College, London. She has been teaching Design Fundamentals and Design-Concepts at UdK, Berlin and holding workshops and lectures at other universities, such as Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Kiel. At the same time, Birgit designed for the Furniture- and Consumer Industries as a freelancer or employed designer. Following her very own interests she has been doing cultural research in Angola and South Africa supported by the City of Berlin and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). For the German Society for Technical Cooperation (GTZ), Birgit Jobst led a 3 month project to optimize production processes for local craftswomen in Angola. Since February 2010, Birgit Jobst has been a researcher in the project Collaborative Creativity at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut, Potsdam.
