Summary of the project
Digital ventures are young firms focused on digital market offerings. They possess a unique capacity for rapid user base expansion by leveraging digital technologies. Notable examples, such as Amazon and Google, illustrate how digital ventures can achieve a scale that took traditional industrial firms decades to realize. However, this accelerated growth introduces significant organizational challenges, particularly in managing revenue and workforce expansion. As these companies scale, they encounter complexities that necessitate the formalization and evolution of their business processes to align with their growth trajectories. This research project aims to systematically investigate the underlying drivers and mechanisms that facilitate these process changes within digital ventures. By analyzing these dynamics, we seek to contribute to the understanding of how digital ventures can effectively adapt their processes to sustain growth and maintain competitive advantage.
