Multidisciplinary research teams from Stanford University and HPI work on diverse topics concerned with Design Thinking, its process, method, interaction patterns and tools in order to investigate the phenomena of innovation.
From March 4 to 6, 2019, researchers from HPI and Stanford University met for the 22nd Community Building Workshop of the joint Hasso Plattner Design Thinking Research Program at the Stanford University campus in California. Each of the current 15 project teams had the opportunity to present their work to the research community and some invited guest researchers, to discuss it or to work on concrete problems or questions. In addition, the visit to the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) provided interesting insights into other research activities at the Californian university and impressively demonstrated application cases ranging from spatial sound reproductions (e.g. from the Hagia Sophia) to medical diagnostics. The program also included a visit to the facebook campus, which gave an impression of the working environment of the company's approximately 11,000 employees at this location and included a VR demo.
