The lecture will take place from Mo, July 2nd – Th, July 5th, 2012 and will be held by Prof. Hasso Plattner. On these dates, the lecture will be held in auditorium 3 from 9:15 am until 4:45 pm. Oral examinations take place the week after in V-2.16. The date for the written exam will be scheduled at the end of the lecture week.

Contents
The focus of this lecture is on enterprise applications, especially with regards to in-memory databases. The lecture will largely be based on the new book by Professor Plattner, which will be given for free to all enrolled students at V-2.11 (Andrea Lange). Students can pick up their copy once the enrollment date ("Belegungsfrist") has passed. The latest enrollment date for this lecture is April 24th, 2012. The contents of the lecture will be posted here in the course of the semester. After the lecture the students should be able to see and discuss emerging trends of software engineering and data management in the context of enterprise applications.
Grading
Grades will be composed of two parts:
- Short group presentation on interesting findings in software projects -- 10%
- Written exam -- 90%
In order to obtain the ECTS credit points for the lecture. both components must be passed with a grade of 4,0 or better.
