Thesis Supervision

The chair for Design Thinking and Innovation Research (DTIR) supervises thesis projects on the bachelor and master student level from the Hasso Plattner Institute, the University of St Gallen (CH), and the University of Potsdam.

Process:

We aim to supervise students closely in terms of the process, meaning you will have regular (weekly/bi-weekly) update sessions with your supervisor. You will also have the opportunity to present your work to the team two to three times along the process.

Outcomes:

We aim to supervise thesis projects that create impact, which means that thesis projects may result in publications or in the development of frameworks, products, and services relevant to practice.

Topics:

In terms of topics, different options are available. Surely, you can propose ideas and topics that are closely aligned with our research interests. If you don’t have a topic in mind, the chair members can provide you with ideas for potential thesis topics, what will be clarified within the first meetings. To closely support and guide you while writing your thesis, we expect you to check the research areas of the chair, which you can find by clicking on the individual team members in the team section of the webpage.

Application Process:

If you are interested in writing your thesis with us, don’t hesitate to contact the researchers that match your area of interest.

Please send your CV (including your grades) as well as your grading application sheet (Bachelor/Master) via mail.
