I am a postdoctoral research fellow leading the autonomous database group of the Hasso-Plattner-Institute at the University of Potsdam. In addition, I am a database architect at SAP SE for SAP HANA Cloud and OrientDB, and a postdorctoral researcher in the SAP HANA Research Campus.

My research aims to build next generation multimodel data platforms, in-memory and cloud databases. In pursuit of this objective, I engage in research on databases, distributed systems and hardware accelerators. The research is conducted in cooperation with academic and industrial partners.

I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science (summa cum laude) from the University of Vienna (Austria) and my MSc. in Computer Science and Mathematics (very good) from the University of Heidelberg (Germany).

Our research group Autonomous Data Management focuses on self-configuring in-memory databases for different workloads and modern hardware, as part of our Hyrise database, and the Skyrise Data-Processing-as-a-Service system that allows us to study scalable and robust query processing on serverless cloud infrastructure.
