In this practical one-day workshop, you will learn the basics of data work from scratch. From data types and APIs to initial visualizations, you will work with real data and build a solid foundation for data-driven work.
The workshop is aimed at product and project managers, marketing managers, operations teams, founders, and anyone who wants or needs to work with data in a practical way. No prior knowledge is required.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to work with data independently. You will not only understand the basics, but also be able to retrieve, prepare, and visualize data in a concrete way. This workshop is not a theoretical exercise, but a practical empowerment to work successfully with data.

This workshop focuses on practical learning. You will work with real data sets and go through the entire process from data collection to initial visualization. Hands-on exercises and concrete examples will enable you to apply what you have learned directly in your everyday work.
If possible, bring your own laptop. No prior knowledge required.

What you will take away from the workshop:
A sound understanding of data types and sources
Learn about the different types of data, from structured to unstructured data. Understand what data sources exist and how you can tap into them. Collect data yourself and categorize it according to its characteristics.
Practical skills in data preparation
Master the basic techniques of data extraction and transformation. Learn how to convert unstructured data into structured formats. Understand how to connect tables using simple joins.
Working with APIs and databases
Learn how to retrieve data from different sources. Work with public APIs and retrieve data yourself. Learn the basics of SQL and perform your first queries in BigQuery.
Data visualization and communication
Develop an understanding of effective data visualization. Learn which forms of visualization are suitable for which data. Create dashboard concepts that present complex data in an understandable way.
Insight into AI and data
Understand the role of data in digital transformation. Learn where AI can be used in the data value chain. Discover how dashboards can be used to automatically generate AI reports.
