Prof. Dr. Falk Uebernickel

Falk Uebernickel, has been Head of d-school and Professional Development at the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) and Professor of Design Thinking and Innovation Research since April 2023. Since 2019, his research has focused on nudging for sustainability and the psychology of digital transformation and innovation in companies, with successful collaborations with well-known companies such as Porsche, GEA, ZF Friedrichshafen and Burckhardt Compression.

Falk Uebernickel has been active in the field of executive education for over ten years, contributing to various MBA, EMBA and CAS programs with the topics "Digital Innovation and Transformation", "Design Thinking" and Agile Leadership. In his professional career, he has accompanied projects for a variety of companies, including E.ON, Maersk Drilling, Merck, Helvetia, SwissRe, Rohde&Schwarz, Takeda and Deutsche Bank, with a focus on product and service development using design thinking and the establishment of digital innovation units.

In addition to his position at HPI and a professorship at the School of Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Falk Uebernickel is known as the author and editor of several books and has contributed to over 200 scientific publications. His research has been featured in the media, including ZDF, Der Spiegel and Süddeutsche Zeitung. In addition, his involvement in the founding and development of start-ups such as Vimcar.de, Visense.io, Mimi.io and Proglove underlines his ongoing interest in innovation and entrepreneurship.
