GDTW “Strategic Design: From Human-Centered Design to Strategic Futures”

Our next Global Design Thinking Workshop (GDTW) will take place from 6th to 30th September 2021. This workshop combines the perspectives of human-centered design in the near future with the long-term perspective of strategic innovation. Interested students and young professionals can apply on our online platform until August 10th, 2021.

GDTW “Strategic Design: From Human-Centered Design to Strategic Futures”

The Global Design Thinking Workshop is a three-week format that goes beyond the introduction to Design Thinking as a process. The GDTW takes place twice a year and is aimed at HPI students and external participants who want to learn more about a specific topic.

The upcoming Global Design Thinking Workshop in September will address "Strategic Design: From Human-Centered Design to Strategic Futures". We see human-centeredness as an important pillar in the design of innovation processes. However, it is often the first criticism of Design Thinking, if we only observe the current needs of today's users. The concept of strategic futures helps us to create solutions that work in the long term but also inspire users in the near future.

Learn how to pick up on trends, develop scenarios, and how to use speculative design to drive this systemic change towards a desirable future at the Global Design Thinking Workshop from September 6th to 30th.

The course takes place in a "blended" format and lasts 50-60 hours of working time. The teamwork in the virtual space with digital tools such as Miro, open HPI and Zoom can be complemented by on-site observations by the participants. Applications for the GDTW are open until August 10th, 2021 on our online platform.
