The HPI d-school at the Digital Health Innovation Forum

Intro

Two days full of creative energy, encounters and real challenges

On April 15 and 16, 2025, we were part of the HPI Digital Health Innovation Forum as HPI d-school and created two interactive formats with which we made Design Thinking tangible and created space for real connection.

Our contribution

Day 1: Discover Your Digital Health Superpower: Creative networking with depth

To kick things off, we broke the ice, but not in the traditional way. In our Discover Your Digital Health Superpower format, we went in search of their personal superpowers together with the participants: What drives them? What characterizes them as innovators? And what influence can they have on the world of digital health?

With a lot of openness, curiosity and a pinch of humor, new connections were created that go beyond superficial networking.

Day 2: Design Thinking Sprint - Solve a Real Digital Health Challenge: From the challenge to initial problem-solving ideas in just 120 minutes

The second day was hands-on: together with our Program Leads team - Clara and Marc - we carried out a compact Design Thinking Sprint. In interdisciplinary groups, the participants faced real challenges from the digital health sector.

There were four current challenges to choose from:

  1. Strengthening trust: What might the digital health experience look like as people wrestle with privacy and trust?
  2. Proactive prevention: How can prevention be designed if AI enables personalized health measures?
  3. Facilitating access: How can telemedicine be made user-friendly when digital skills vary widely?
  4. Act responsibly: How can responsible antibiotic use be promoted in the face of increasing resistance?

In the space of just two hours, we took a joint look at user perspectives, developed ideas and outlined possible solutions. The energy in the room? Palpable. The results? Inspiring.

Thanks to everyone who was there!
