Openlab Stockholm opens its doors

We’re very happy to welcome another great new partner to our growing global network of Design Thinkers: Openlab Stockholm!

The Openlab in Stockholm, Sweden is a creative centre that provides opportunities for finding solutions to challenges in society: In cooperation with partners such as the City of Stockholm, Stockholm County Council, Stockholm County Administrative Board, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Södertörn University as well as other actors, they create proposals for innovative solutions to meet the challenges of the growing and sustainable city. Openlab does this across the lines between different disciplines and professions; past projects included solutions for the topics of Ageing Population, Public Healthcare and Sustainable Urban Development among others.

A team of HPI D-School coaches, Helen van Baal, Arndt Pechstein and Jeremias Schmitt, has been visiting Openlab last November under the direction of Dr. Claudia Nicolai for a “Train the trainers” workshop and to help their Swedish colleagues with words and deeds. Now, in February, the official opening ceremony of Openlab took place with all partners present. During the day long celebrations Design Thinking and prototyping workshops were held as well as panel discussions by global leading experts and doers and pitching sessions, where one could present ideas or solutions to Openlab´s founding partners.

We are delighted about this truly trailblazing project and are very much looking forward to keep working together!

P.S.: You can find all videos from the opening ceremony – among others a talk by Prof. Ulrich Weinberg – here: http://openlabsthlm.se/
