  1. HPI Bachelor Starting Fund: For prospective students applying to the Bachelor's program in IT Systems Engineering who need to relocate to attend HPI or are beginning their studies under special circumstances. Apply now!
  2. Women in Tech EmpowerPack: For young women passionate about technology who are applying to the Bachelor's program in IT Systems Engineering. Apply now!
  3. HPI Computer Science Scholarship: For international students (from both EU and non-EU countries) applying to the Master's program in Computer Science. Apply now!

HPI scholarships at a glance

Who is it for?

The scholarship helps cover the costs associated with starting university studies, particularly relocation and housing expenses. It is intended for exceptionally qualified applicants to the Bachelor's program in IT Systems Engineering at the Hasso Plattner Institute for the upcoming winter semester.

Special consideration is given to students who need to relocate for their studies, are first-generation college students, have a migration background, or are beginning their studies under special circumstances.

How to apply*

  • Completed application form
  • University entrance qualification (e.g., high school diploma or equivalent) with outstanding academic performance (GPA equivalent of 1.2 or better in the German grading system)
  • For applicants with a foreign secondary school diploma: Recognition certificate issued by the Cottbus School Authority or uni-assist e.V.
  • Application deadline: July 15, 2026

*Please note: Receiving a scholarship does not guarantee admission to the degree program. You must also apply separately for admission to the program (application deadline: July 15, 2026). The scholarship will only be awarded if you officially enroll as a full-time student in the Bachelor of Science in IT Systems Engineering program for the Winter Semester 2026/27. Students who are already enrolled at HPI are not eligible for this scholarship.

How we support you

  • Monthly scholarship award of €500 for 12 months
  • An additional relocation grant may be available upon submission of a registration certificate (proof of residence)

You can expect to receive our decision by the end of July.

How to apply

  • Application period:
    • Start of studies in the winter semester: beginning of March to mid – May
    • Start of studies in the summer semester: beginning of September – beginning of November, 2025
