We have witnessed, five eventful days of workshops at our HPI campus in Potsdam. Bringing together researchers from a wide range of fields such as medicine, AI, IT and software engineering.
Researchers, students and experts from HPI Mount Sinai, Data4Life, the Hasso Plattner Foundation and the Hasso Plattner Institut have been talking about their common aims of carrying out digital health research on a real world patient health system, with terabytes of data at their disposal. The workshop also includes the third AIR·MS Hackathon. For 24 hours, students and researchers use the AIR·MS research platform to tackle exciting challenges in the field of digital health and present their solutions to a jury.

The partnership

In 2019, the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) and the Mount Sinai Health System joined forces to bridge the gap between digital technology and healthcare. This collaboration led to the creation of the Hasso Plattner Institute at Mount Sinai (HPI-MS), where groundbreaking research is shaping the future of digital healthcare.

Especially for young researchers, whether with a medical or technical background, this partnership is a special opportunity to learn from experts and deepen their topics through research stays. Whether it's wearables, artificial intelligence, machine learning or large language models, the focus is always on people and their health. This collaboration brings together innovative technology and real medical practice.

“All of our work is worthwhile when it improves people's health and well-being, whether individually or at a population level. That's what really drove our discussions this week,” says Dr. Esther-Maria Antão, Partnership Lead at the Digital Health Cluster.
