On October 22, 2025, 18 HPI alumni gathered at SAP Labs in San Francisco to celebrate the official launch of the HPI Alumni Chapter Silicon Valley. The evening was filled with inspiring conversations, new connections, and joyful reunions with HPI graduates from across the Bay Area.
A highlight of the event was the talk by Prof. Dr. Ariel Dora Stern, titled "The Digital Transformation of Medicine: Opportunities for Tech and Business Leaders." Her presentation sparked lively discussions that continued well beyond the official program.
Many participants especially enjoyed meeting other HPI alumni currently active in Silicon Valley. Moritz Moser, HPI alumnus and co-founder of ComplyDo, shared: "We’re currently part of the Y Combinator batch here in San Francisco. At the alumni event, we wanted to connect and exchange ideas with inspiring HPI alumni from the Silicon Valley tech scene."
The Berlin-based startup ComplyDo, founded by three HPI alumni, is currently participating in Y Combinator – one of the world’s most renowned startup accelerator programs, known for success stories such as Airbnb, Dropbox, and Reddit.
With the founding of this chapter, the foundation has been laid for a vibrant and active HPI community on the U.S. West Coast. Jonas Gebhardt, Marco Pashkov, and Daniel Thevessen were named as Chapter Ambassadors and will coordinate future meetups and activities.
The next informal get-together is already planned for December at a Christmas market in Mountain View, with another HPI event to follow in the spring.
A heartfelt thank-you goes to SAP Labs for their warm hospitality and to all participants for an evening full of energy, inspiration and true HPI spirit. The event once again demonstrated how vibrant, committed, and international the HPI Alumni Network has become.
