Global reach. Personal connection.
The HPI Alumni Chapters bring together graduates of the Hasso Plattner Institute from all over the world. They create spaces for exchange, inspiration and genuine encounters - locally anchored, internationally networked and always closely connected to the HPI.
Whether it's scientific insights into current economic and technology trends, insights into research and entrepreneurship, collaborations with partner universities or simply social meetups: the chapters thrive on the commitment of their members and the shared HPI spirit.
What are HPI Alumni Chapters?
HPI Alumni Chapters are regional or thematic networks of HPI alumni. They offer:
- Regular meetings with professional input from science, business and technology
- Networking on an equal footing with alumni from different years, industries and countries
- Exchange with students and researchers of HPI
- Social events – from informal meetups to special community formats
Each chapter is organized and designed by dedicated alumni – closely aligned with the interests of the local community.
Active Alumni Chapters
Berlin-Brandenburg Chapter
The HPI Alumni Chapter Berlin-Brandenburg stands for regular, well-connected meetings with professional input and personal exchange. The events combine impulses from technology, business and society with open networking within the alumni community.
Typical formats include short presentations, fireside chats and moderated discussions - often with guests from the field including HPI professors who provide insights into current research and future topics. Events are often held at alumni companies or partner organizations within the network.
The focus is always on togetherness. Or, as alumnus Sebastian Serth put it after the founding meeting in September 2025:
When I walked in, I had exactly that feeling: of being at home in a community of people, many of whom I know and understand. It's wonderful.
Silicon Valley Chapter
The HPI Alumni Chapter Silicon Valley connects alumni in one of the world's most dynamic technology ecosystems. It is aimed at HPI graduates who live or work in the Bay Area—for example, in start-ups, tech companies, research or investment.
The meetings combine content-related insights into technology and economic trends with personal exchange. In addition to alumni from Silicon Valley, guests from academia and industry, including HPI professors, regularly participate in the events.
New chapters in planning
The HPI Alumni Network continues to grow. The following chapters are planned for this year:
- Switzerland Chapter (Zurich): Alumni reunion on April 29, 2026
- United Kingdom Chapter (London): Alumni reunion on June 16, 2026
- Women Chapter (cross-location)
The goal is to connect alumni in an even more targeted way—both regionally and thematically—and to create new spaces for exchange and mutual support.
