Student Information

On its own campus directly situated at the S-Bahn station Griebnitzsee the Hasso Plattner Institute provides studying conditions which only the very least institutes can compete with. Short distances, state-of-the-art labs and direct contact between lecturers and students only are a few points.

We Provide a Personal and Comprehensive Information and Counseling Service

HPI offers information and counseling services covering the following areas: content and structure of the study programs, focus and orientation of the Institute, differences between HPI's and traditional computer science programs, and the selection procedure each candidate must undergo. Incidentally: HPI students are enrolled at the University of Potsdam, which awards the Bachelor's and Master's degrees to graduates.

Our program supervisor is happy to offer you personal counseling services every Tuesday from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in HPI's building A in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Additional appointments can be arranged by email at studinfo(at)hpi.de or by phone at +49 (0)331 5509-280.

PhD Counseling

The Hasso Plattner Institute offers together with the University of Potsdam researchers an interesting place for their doctoral studiesa PhD. There are two ways gain a PhD: as a fellow of the HPI Research School or as a doctoral candidate in one of the HPI groups.

Design Thinking Counseling

Our one- or optional two-semester additional degree in Design Thinking is aimed at students who are in the final phase of their diploma, masters or doctoral studies or have recently completed their studies. Each semester, 80 students are accepted and trained in the user-centered innovation method. The training requires two days at Potsdam per week. The successful completion is certified.
