HPI offers the best computer science in Germany

HPI has been participating in the ranking of the Centre for Higher Education (CHE) since 2006. The joint Digital Engineering Faculty of HPI and the University of Potsdam regularly occupies top positions with its range of courses in the field of computer science. Since 2021, HPI and its Master's programs have also been part of the CHE Master's ranking.

CHE Bachelor's ranking 2024/25

In the current CHE University Ranking 2024/2025, the joint Digital Engineering Faculty of HPI and the University of Potsdam is once again at the top. In the current CHE Master's Ranking 2024/25, HPI receives top marks from students in almost all categories - and is thus almost consistently well above the average for all universities.

The institute achieved a particularly strong result in the categories

  1. Study organization & general study situation – quick accessibility of lecturers and support with questions and problems
  2. Focus on research – opportunity for independent research work and participation in HPI research projects
  3. Practical teaching – exciting courses with practical relevance as well as relevant competencies and skills for the profession

The CHE University Ranking

The CHE University Ranking, published by the weekly newspaper DIE ZEIT, has been providing prospective students with the opportunity to find the right university or university of applied sciences for their individual needs since 1998, based on systematically collected and scientifically proven facts. This ranking includes the opinions of more than 120,000 students on the study conditions in around 40 subjects at more than 300 universities and universities of applied sciences (HAW), as well as at dual universities and vocational colleges. The data presented in the university ranking is updated every three years in each subject area. The CHE ranking is the most comprehensive university ranking in the German-speaking world.
