Annie Kerguenne

Annie Kerguenne is Director Digital Transformation Strategy at the HPI Academy as well as Senior Lecturer and Design Thinking Master Coach at the Hasso Plattner Institute. The connection of research, education and practice at the HPI is the fertile ground for her continuous collaborative activities that support the exchange and merger of knowledge coming from the different perspectives in the HPI eco system. In collaboration with HPI faculty experts, the growing HPI start-up community and the HPI Design Thinking expert coaches network, she leads the development, design, and implementation of training programs and community events such as the HPI-Stanford Certificate Leading Digital Transformation and Innovation (since 2016), the Design Thinking Professional Track (since 2014), the Strategic Design Thinking For Every Day (online, since 2020) and the Connect & Do Day Event for Change Pioneers (Since 2014). Annie is passionate about methodical approaches for organizational transformation with a scientific impact base. Contributing to making research knowledge usable for practitioners is her aim.

Annie was born, raised and educated in France before moving to Germany where she graduated from TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF DARMSTADT after a multidisciplinary degree program with a Magistra Artium (M.A.) in Linguistics, Political Science and Business Economics in 1992. She was trained in Design Thinking at the HPI SCHOOL OF DESIGN THINKING, where she attended the Basic Track as a professional in 2012/13.

Before joining the HPI in 2013, it is her passion for creativity as a means of complex problem solving which led Annie to work in the creative business as managing director, strategic planner, innovation- & trend-researcher and creative director, amongst others for global agency networks such as Doyle, Dane & Bernbach (DDB), Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) and Dentsu. Since more than 15 years, Annie supports start-ups as a corporate strategy consultant in crafting their purposes and setting up their creative leadership strategies.

Annie is contributing author and co-author of the following publications:

  • “Design Thinking in Education – Innovation can be Learned” (Meinel, Krohn; Wiley, first edition in German planned 2021)
  • “Design Thinking – The Agile Innovation Strategy” (Kerguenne, Schaefer, Taherivand; in German only, Haufe 2017)
