Institut für Telematik e.V. Trier

In 1998 Christoph Meinel has founded in Trier a nonprofit reserach institute, the "Institut für Telematik e.V.". He was the director of this institute from 1998 to 2002. The institute was organized like a Fraunhofer Institut where most of the budget comes from applied research projects with industry and business. About 50 scientific co-workers, doctorands, technical staff, and practicants were employed. The instituts special expertise laid in the fields: Internet Security, Telemedicine, and Electronic Publishing / E-Learning. In the balance of his responsibility for the institute are 120 successful projects valued at 5,8 Mio Euro, 3 international patents, and 91 reviewed conference papers.

1991 - 2004 Christoph Meinel was a full professor (C4) at the university of Trier. He had a chair on "Theoretical Concepts and New Applications of Computer Science" at the Computer Science Department.
