HPI at SAPPHIRE NOW 2014

3 to 5 June 2014

From June 3-5, Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) is appearing at SAPPHIRE NOW, the world’s largest conference for SAP customers in Orlando (USA). During the three-day event, HPI presents its current research projects in the field of application-oriented computer science. The focus is on Internet-based knowledge transfer in addition to projects in the area of the in-memory database technology researched at HPI.

With its interactive platform, openHPI, the Potsdam Institute demonstrates its expertise in the realm of open online courses. Since 2012, HPI has been offering its cutting edge IT knowledge at www.openhpi.de in the form of independent online courses - so-called MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). SAP has also taken advantage of this expertise with its own learning platform openSAP, based on the HPI technical platform.

Altogether three HPI research areas are presenting their SAP-related projects at the Institute’s booth. Above all, the focus is on the research area led by Professor Hasso Plattner: Enterprise Platform and Integration Concepts. This research group presents the most current applications based on in-memory database technology. The HPI appearance is complemented by the research areas Internet Technologies and Systems and Operating Systems and Middleware, which provide insight into their current research topics.
