In his talk, Prof. Plattner explains how the foundation for the new SAP HANA database architecture was laid at HPI and the possibilities this technology offers to companies today. With different application examples and demo presentations, the director of the HPI Research Group shows the performance capability of the main memory database. This technology allows the analysis of complex data in seconds. The increase in speed results from the storage of data in the main memory and a new type of data organization.
