Research is not usually carried out by a single person, but by several scientists who support each other, exchange ideas and work together. To facilitate this exchange beyond a single research group or university, HPI invited doctoral students from the HPI Research Schools to a three-day research symposium in Potsdam.
In addition to keynote speeches by renowned speakers from academia and industry, the programme included lectures and elevator pitches in which the doctoral students presented the current status of their research work. The symposium also included interactive formats such as poster and brainstorming sessions. Various team events, including a joint pizza dinner in the D-Space and a boat trip across Lake Griebnitz, rounded off the symposium, which is organised annually by Prof. Andreas Polze, head of the "Operating Systems and Middleware" research group.
