Founders: Top, Young Women Innovator from HPI Ensures a Clear Overview with Algorithm of Importance

HPI Master graduate Lea Voget (28) will be taking part in the founders’ breakfast hosted by Brigitte Zypries, Parlimentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economics and Energy, at CeBIT 2015, as a representative of Hasso Plattner Institute.  With a specially developed algorithm of importance, the software of the Potsdam computer scientist makes it possible to ensure that teams maintain an overview of their innovation projects. Voget founded the start-up Connecting Infos (www.connectinginfos.com) with Andreas Kovacs-Buranzis and Can Kahya in mid-2014 in Potsdam.  The start-up is supported by the EXIST program. The innovative documentation software differs from other solutions in that instead of focusing on individual information and ideas it addresses their relationship to one another. Teams can see all saved information and its context at once and sort this visually based on different characteristics. The specially developed algorithm thereby helps to keep track of what’s important when handling a large amount of information and ideas. Thus Lea Voget’s business idea makes it possible to increase the use of stored knowledge and to feel less overwhelmed by its sheer amount.

Lea Voget studied at HPI and the University of California (Irvine). In 2013, she earned her master’s degree at HPI with honors, graduating with the exceptional grade of 1.0. She also completed a supplementary training program at HPI in Design Thinking and has since served as coach of this innovation method on projects, for example, in China, Kenya and South Africa.
