HPI and the University of Potsdam Say Good-Bye to Their Bachelor and Master Graduates

On September 29, 122 graduates celebrated the completion of their bachelor and master studies at the joint Digital Engineering Faculty of the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) and the University of Potsdam (UP).

More than 350 guests took part in the festive ceremony at HPI on a Friday afternoon. This year the ceremonial address was given by Katherina Reiche, Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Municipal Enterprises e.V, who expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the 60 master's and 62 bachelor's graduates.

Twelve master and two bachelor students earned a special recognition this year, finishing their studies in the field of IT Systems Engineering with the dream grade of 1.0, making them the best IT junior engineers in Germany!

Graduation Ceremony 2017


In recognition of their outstanding achievements, the best graduates were presented a medal of honor by HPI Director Professor Christoph Meinel, in the presence of Professor Florian J. Schweigert, Vice President of the University of Potsdam. The best bachelor graduates also received a scholarship for the master's program at HPI, amounting to 500 Euros for a duration of 12 months. The best master graduates, who will proceed with their doctorate at HPI, were each awarded a cash bonus of 1,500 Euros by the HPI director.
