On March 22, Dalian University of Technology (DUT) president Professor Dongming Guo handed the honorary professorship certificate to HPI director Meinel. This was followed by a discussion with more than 150 scientists and students. The DUT is one of China's top universities of engineering and technology.

The Potsdam scientist has held an honorary professorship at the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) since 2013. As part of the "Internet Bridge" cooperation project, young computer scientists will be able to attend the HPI courses online about internet safety, which will be held in English. Once a year, Meinel takes the exams in China and gives a certificate to successful participants. In the future, this option should also be open to students of the DUT.
