CeBIT Future Talk: Connecting Chinese brains with German software

As the world becomes increasingly connected, the way we work also changes dramatically. We can see this on a global scale as collaboration and interaction become more and more important. To some degree it takes more than a small effort to learn these methods, since in traditional education and training programs the individual is more likely to be the focal point than the team. The competition of highly-specialized individuals has often been promoted to a greater extent than team spirit and the readiness to network.

Hasso Plattner Institute (Hall 9, Stand D44) sets a radical new momentum with its HPI School of Design Thinking and has in recent years become an important focal point and model for innovative educational institutions around the world. Prof. Ulrich Weinberg explains the core element of Design Thinking - an innovation approach that connects thinking and action. The director of the HPI School of Design Thinking specifically reports on his collaboration with the CUC Communication University of China in Beijing, the world’s largest media university. Two years ago CUC became the first university in China to launch a Design Thinking program, and is currently planning another major step with the “Design Thinking Innovation Center“.
