HackHPI: Students program for the environment

Already for the third time HPI students organize the hackathon „HackHPI“. This year, students will try to find solutions to major environmental problems within 22 hours. Anyone interested in environmental issues can apply.

The free HPI hackathon is organized by HPI Connect Club students each year. They receive support from sponsors - including the SAP Innovation Center Network, Tableau Software, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research and the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research. A jury awards the best applications after a presentation of the projects.

Only very few hackathons have dealt with the topic of the environment so far. Technology and software have the potential to solve problems such as pollution, global warming and natural disasters, according to the organizers. With the HackHPI 2018 they want to create a space for creative ideas to work together on software applications for the blue planet.

Last year, more than 90 participants from seven countries developed digital health applications in both software and hardware.

Want to join the HackHPI 2018?Application ist open till 13. May!
