“The cooperation in the past five years has been excellent. I am therefore delighted that Nanjing University will be joining our graduate school in the education of talented junior researches for another five years,” said HPI Director Meinel.
The HPI Research School in Nanjing is the HPI’s third international “branch,” besides Cape Town and Haifa. Like their Israeli and South African colleagues, the Chinese junior researchers work at their home university in China and are awarded scholarships from HPI in Germany. They are mentored jointly by their respective home professors and integrated into the research activities of the Research School in Potsdam. In addition, they are invited to take part in the annual joint HPI Research School symposium, as well as an annual retreat and workshop in Nanjing. They are also encouraged, and receive funding, to take part in prestigious international scientific conferences, workshops and symposia.
